Purim Carnival

Every year at the Purim Carnival, the girls miss out on getting the best prizes, because by the time they are done playing the games, they are all given out. To ensure that she would get one of the 100 ticket prizes this year, Jenna kept her tickets from last year (59 of them) to add to this year’s total. The 100 ticket prize is always the same thing, a 5 pound gummy bear, or worm. As described on the package, it is 10 inches tall, consists of 51 servings at 120 calories each for a grand total of over 6000 calories. Every dentist’s dream!

Jenna could barely wait to dig into it.

Build and Grow Monster Truck

Alyssa told me on the way to Lowes that she wanted to assemble this week’s project all by herself. Upon hearing that, Megan also refused to have any help. I was very impressed with both of them. It was the first time that I didn’t have to hammer a single nail.

Sweet & Sassy

Megan was invited to a birthday party for one of her friends at Sweet & Sassy. She has wanted to go there for a while, so she was very excited about this. At the store, the girls were first treated to a “spa” day which included having their hair and make-up done. They then tried on, and modeled various outfits for their friends. They capped off their day with a ride in a limousine around the mall. Here is a picture of the girls looking glamorous:

Daddy Daughter Day with Alyssa

Alyssa had the day off from school recently, while her sisters didn’t. We spent the day together doing things she likes to do, like visiting the pet store. Here she is observing the small breed dogs at Petsmart’s doggy day care. She would have spent hours here if I had let her.

On the drive home, Alyssa was playing with my cell phone. I thought she was just watching the previous video from the pet store, but she was actually recording herself. Here is what she recorded:

PJ’s and Popcorn

Alyssa’s school threw a “pajama party” for students and their family. The kids (and some adults) came in their pajamas, and took part in games, crafts, and activities. Jenna, being the preteen that she is, decided to skip it.

The kids had fun having pillow fights with inflatables.

Megan’s Class Birthday Party

Dana took a break from work on Megan’s birthday to have lunch with her at school. Megan was the only student to have McDonald’s for lunch!

After lunch, Megan and a friend handed out treats to celebrate her birthday. A new school rule requires that all birthday treats be store bought to prevent any possible problems with food allergies. No more homemade cupcakes or brownies.

Since Megan doesn’t care for cake, Dana made her a birthday brownie.

Megan and Alyssa playing with the shooting gallery game Megan got from us. It is similar to a game I had as a child, and really liked. (The blue gun Alyssa is using is all that remains from my original game.)
