Kings Island

We spent a rainy morning at Kings Island on Sunday. The temperature was pleasant, and the lines were short.

By noon, most of us were dry. The kids – not so much, courtesy of Congo Falls

Frog Jumping Contest Part 2

Megan went next, because Alyssa still wasn’t sure she wanted to handle a frog. Megan picked the fattest frog she could find. It also proved to be the laziest. It didn’t move an inch.

Alyssa finally decided to compete, but only if Jenna handled her frog for her.

We ended the event by playing a little cornhole:

Frog Jumping Contest Part 1

Today was the annual Dublin Kiwanis Frog Jump. It is Dublin’s oldest event. For a dollar donation, each child chooses a frog, and competes in his or her age bracket by trying to get the frog to jump out of the outer circle. The first person to succeed, moves onto the next round. If successful at the second round, there is a final championship round. Jenna and Alyssa both made it to the second round, but not any farther.

Jenna’s strategy was to choose a small, lean frog, instead of one of the many chubby ones.

Contestants aren’t allowed to leave the inner circle, until given permission to.

Pet Store

The girls wanted to go to the pet store again. This time they played with a chi-winie ( a chihuahua wiener dog mix). The dog really liked laying in Jenna’s lap.

Mellow Mushroom commercial

Dana and the girls went to The Mellow Mushroom pizza place this morning at 8:30 to be a part of a commercial they were filming. It’s a new gourmet pizza chain in town that we happened to eat at about two weeks ago. They were promised free pizza, drinks, and gift card, and a chance to become local celebrities. Jenna was just excited to have pizza for breakfast. When the girls were pretty much the only kids to show up, they quickly became the stars of the commercial. As a result, they were in every scene, and hence, had no time to eat pizza. Jenna was disappointed that it was 11:30 by the time they got their pizza, which meant it was no longer breakfast. The Mellow Mushroom made up for it by giving Dana $70.00 worth of gift cards.
